Houston Chronicle: Mexico could tap U.S. expertise to develop shale
We civilians occasionally need reminding that oil and gas formations don't exactly or even remotely conform with geographic and political boundaries.
Chronicle readers were offered that helpful reminder this week in a piece by the Chronicle's Mexico City bureau chief Dudley Althaus ("Energy reform just hot air? Shale fields may tell," Page A1, Sunday). As Althaus explained, the intersection of Mexico's rich natural resources with that country's equally prideful history and politics will tell a large part of the tale of Mexico's economic future. As most Texans understand, that also means the United States' future. MORE
