Houthis claim responsibility for attacks on Saudi oil refineries
Yemen's Houthis rebels claimed responsibility on April 12 for a drone strike against Saudi oil refineries in Jubail and Jeddah, in the latest of several attacks by the Iran-backed group against Saudi oil infrastructure.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said on Twitter that the attack lasted from yesterday evening until dawn today and "successfully achieved its objectives." The Saudi Aramco-run refineries were targeted by 10 drones, he said, while military sites in the Khamis Mushit and Jizan areas were targeted by five drones and two ballistic missiles.

The Saudi government proposed a ceasefire in Yemen in late March, but the Houthis are demanding that Riyadh lifts its economic blockade of Yemeni airports and ports. The group launched a drone attack against Saudi Arabia's Abha airport on March 23, the day after the ceasefire was proposed.
The Houthis carried out their most disruptive attack against the Saudi oil industry in September 2019, striking two major oil facilities in the kingdom and briefly knocking out over 5% of global oil supply. Brent surged 19.5% after that attack, but the benchmark is up only 0.4% today at $63.22/barrel.
