Hull Street buys four New York power plants from J-Power

Private equity firm Hull Street Energy (HSE) has agreed to acquire four thermal power plants in New York from J-Power USA, the company announced on August 1. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquired portfolio includes the gas-fired Edgewood Energy, jet fuel-powered Shoreham Energy, gas-fired Pinelawn Power, and gas-fired Equus Power I. These plants, located on Long Island, collectively provide 300 MW of power generation capacity to support New York customers.

Upon the close of this transaction, HSE affiliates will own approximately 2.65 GW of gas-fired and dual-fuelled generation capacity.

J-Power USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of J-Power North America Holdings Co., which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Electric Power Development Co.
