Icon Energy's CSG Well Intersects 11.8 m of Net Coal

Icon Energy’s coal seam gas well in the Surat Basin, Queensland, has intersected 11.8 metres of net coal in the Walloon Coal Measures.

The net coal intersected was better than initial expectations however the four Drill Stem Tests that were conducted indicated the well to be of low permeability and further analysis is required.

Windom 1 well in ATP 626P that was spudded on 7 May reached a total depth of 1200 metres.

Icon said the well will now be plugged and drilled and the Ensign Rig 960 moved to drill Eolus-1, the second of 2 wells it is drilling part of the second stage work program of Stanwell Corporation’s farm-in to exploration permit ATP 626P.
