Salford Star: TRAFFORD COUNCIL DEFERS IGAS DRILLING APPLICATION
Trafford Council has `deferred' consideration of an exploratory drilling planning application from fracking firm IGas due to a "number of detailed and conflicting environmental issues" and "to give further consideration to environmental issues raised by objectors".
Campaigners from Salford and Trafford objected to councillors only being briefed by IGas on the drilling proposals, and the Breathe Clean Air Group now hopes that the Council will take up its offer of an alternative briefing so that it can be "genuinely fully informed".
Trafford Council has deferred a controversial planning application by fracking firm IGas for Coal Bed Methane testing and production at the Davyhulme site occupied by campaigners from Salford and Trafford earlier this year.
