India to Hold Oil, Gas Road Shows in Houston, Calgary
India will be holding road shows in Houston and Calgary this week to promote bidding of 67 discovered small oil and gas fields.
The ministry officially launched the bidding process on May 25, 2016 in New Delhi. Discovered Small Field Bidding Round – 2016 will be presided over by India’s oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Under the Discovered Small Field Policy, the government is offering 67 discovered small oil and gas fields clubbed into 46 contract areas spread over nine sedimentary basins in onland, shallow water and deep water areas for bidding which have known hydrocarbon discoveries.
These fields have been discovered by India’s national oil companies and are now being offered under exclusive policy which is based on easy to administer revenue sharing contract model.
Houston road show is scheduled on July 14 and 15, 2016 while the Calgary road show will be held on July 18 and 19, 2016.
The road shows in Houston will be attended by Pradhan. The minister will also visit Washington to hold meetings with think tanks as well as Ernest Jeffrey Moniz - Secretary of Energy, USA on July 18.
During the road show a data room will also be opened in office premises of ONGC Videsh Ltd in Houston. During Pradhan’s meeting with his US counterpart in Washington, issues of bilateral hydrocarbon cooperation will be reviewed.
