Indian Oil to Set Up LNG Terminal in Tamil Nadu

Indian Oil Corporation has decided to build a LNG terminal near Chennai in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

The company on Thursday signed an agreement with the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation for setting up the terminal.

The project would initially have a capacity of about 5 million tonne, which may be scaled up to 10 million tonne. The terminal is expected to be completed by end 2015 or early 2016.
