India's January Gas Output Up Over 5%

India’s gross production of natural gas in January was 2.84bn m3, up 5.4% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data published January 21 by the Indian oil ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC).

During the first 10 months of the present financial year that began April 1, cumulative gross production of natural gas was up 0.4% year-on-year to 27.49bn m3.

India’s gas consumption in January was 4.9bn m3 compared with 5.02bn m3 in the same period of previous year. During April-January period total gas consumption was 49.66bn m3 as against 48.26bn m3 in the same period of previous financial year, the data showed.
