India's LNG imports dip 7% in May

India's LNG imports reached 2.65bn m3 (about 2mn tonnes) in May, marking a 7.2% decrease compared with the same month last year, according to provisional data released on June 17 by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Imports in the first two months of the current financial year, ending in March 2025 (FY2025), totalled 5.29bn m3, down 1.3% year/year.

For the fiscal year ended March 2024 (FY2024), India imported a total of 30.92bn m3 of LNG, up 17.5% year/year, PPAC reported in April.
