India's LNG imports down 19% in August
India’s LNG imports in August were 2.37bn m3 (1.74mn metric tons), down 18.9% year/year, the country’s oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) website showed on September 19. The imports were down 7.8% month/month.
The cumulative imports during the April-August period, the first five months of the 2022-2023 financial year, were 12.34bn m3, down 10.2% yr/yr.

The LNG imports last month cost $1bn versus $1.2bn in the same month last year. The import cost during April-August was $5.6bn, up from $4.5bn in the same period last year, PPAC said.
