India's LNG imports jump 15% in July

India’s LNG imports saw another significant rise in July, following an 11% year/year increase in June, according to provisional data released on August 16 by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

In July, LNG imports reached 2.7bn m³ (about 2mn tonnes), marking a 14.8% increase compared with the same period last year. Cumulatively, imports in the first four months of the current financial year, which ends in March 2025 (FY2025), totalled 11.42bn m3, representing a 13.1% year/year growth.

For the fiscal year ended March 2024 (FY2024), India imported a total of 30.92bn m3 of LNG, up 17.5% year/year, PPAC reported in April.
