India's LNG imports up 9% in May
India's LNG imports in May came in at 2.59bn m³ of pipeline equivalent (about 2mn metric tons), up 9.2% year/year, the Indian oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) website showed on June 19. Imports were up 3% month/month.
During the first two months of the 2021-2022 financial year, imports were 5.24bn m³, up 24.9% yr/yr.

LNG imports in May cost some $800mn, up from $500mn in the same month last year. In the financial year 2020-2021, the import bill was $7.4bn, down from $9.5bn a year earlier, the PPAC data showed.
