Indonesia Awards Oil, Gas and CBM Blocks
Five new oil and gas blocks and four coal-bed methane block were awarded in Indonesia to investors on Friday as the government seeks to boost energy supply.
BP Indonesia Exploration and Total were both awarded coal bed methane (CBM) blocks in Kalimantan.
BP was awarded three blocks in Central Kalimantan, while French energy major Total won one block in East Kalimantan, the ministry said.
Indonesia plans to offer 50 oil and gas blocks, as well as 10 coal bed methane blocks in 2011 to investors as the country seeks to boost investment in the sector, the energy ministry said late last year.
