Indonesia Caps Gas Prices for Seven Industries
Indonesia has capped gas prices for seven industries in order to encourage economic growth and increase competitiveness, the country’s energy and mineral resources ministry said in a statement on April 14.
The ministry has set the price of gas at $6/mn Btu for the fertiliser, petrochemical, oleochemical, steel, ceramics, glass and rubber gloves industries. These industries were paying anywhere between $7/mn Btu - $10/mn Btu.
The new regulation was signed by energy and mineral resources minister Arifin Tasrif.
