Indonesia's South Jambi B block flows first gas
The South Jambi B block onshore Sumatra in Indonesia, operated by Hong Kong-based Jindi Group, has flowed first gas, the country’s upstream regulator SKKMigas said on June 29.
The block is producing at a rate of 2mn ft3/day of gas, which will be gradually ramped up to 12mn ft3/day. The gas will be supplied to industries and state-owned PLN’s power plant in Jambi on the island of Sumatra, the regulator said.
SKKMigas said Indonesia planned to bring 12 oil and gas projects online this year, of which South Jambi B is the seventh. The country aims to produce 12bn ft3/day by 2030, SKKmigas said.
