Inpex to reduce operations at Ichthys LNG's Train 1 to 70% for inspections
Sept 10 (Reuters) - The rate of operations at Train 1 of the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project will be reduced to 70% as part of inspections for preventive measures, operator Inpex Corp said in an emailed statement on Tuesday.
"Train 1 is currently operating safely. However, as Train 1 is using the same equipment (heat exchangers) as Train 2, it has been decided that Train 1's rate of operations would be reduced to about 70% whereupon inspections will be carried out, as a preventive measure," Inpex said.

"Appropriate measures, including inspections, will be taken to ensure the continuity of safe operations."
Train 2, which was taken offline for inspection and repair works on Aug. 20, is expected to restart in the second half of September, the company said.
Inpex said overall production at Ichthys LNG is expected to recover to 100% by early November, and that issues faced by the production trains are related to the heat exchangers.
