Iran Eager to Invest In Pakistan Oil, Gas Sector

Iranian officials in a meeting with their Pakistani counterparts in Islamabad underlined Tehran's enthusiasm for investment in Pakistan's energy sector.        

A two-day meeting of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Committee on Oil, Gas and Energy was concluded on Wednesday in Islamabad to discuss bilateral cooperation in Oil and Gas sectors, Fars News said.

The Iranian side expressed its intention to invest in the electricity and petroleum (E&P) sectors, including investment in the upstream and midstream. The Iranian side also invited Pakistani companies to invest in E & P sectors in Iran.

Furthermore, the two sides decided to form a Joint Working Group covering experts from Technical, Legal, Financial and Commercial sectors to work out the details with respect to the implementation of the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline project.
