Iran Plans to Export Oil from Sea of Oman
TEHRAN, May 21 (Shana) - First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri called for export of some parts of Iran’s petroleum abroad through Sea of Oman as an alternative to the Persian Gulf.
Parts of Iran’s oil should be exported from Southeastern Makran seashores, Jahangiri said.
Government will do its best to develop the Makran seashore and construct the port’s infrastructure including the railroad and industrial faculties needed, Jahangiri added.
He urged financing the Chabahar-Iranshahr-Zahedan railroad as well as the region’s petrochemical complex.
Makran is a semi-desert coastal strip in the south of Sindh and Balochistan, in Pakistan and Iran, along the coast of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
