Iran Tenders for Flaring Cuts
Iran’s oil ministry has held a general tender for gathering as much as 29mn m³/d of associated gas in 61 oil fields to curb flaring.
The ministry has negotiated with two subsidiaries of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company, a subsidiary of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, and a subsidiary of the Arvandan oil and Gas Company, according to a report from the Iranian government published on February 14.
Iran has captured 32.9mn m³/d of associated gas in the past 10 years that would otherwise have been flared.

Iran’s raw gas production capacity is 700mn m³/d – including flaring and re-injection – while the sweet gas output capacity stands at 552mn m³/d.
Iran produced 487mn m³/d of refined gas during last fiscal year, while this figure stood at 473mn m³/d in 10 months of current FY. Iran increases sweet gas production in winter compared to warm seasons.
