Iran's ICOFC Could Offer Upstream Gas Contracts
Iran's Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) says it has about $6.1bn-worth of upstream gas projects to offer to foreigners. The managing director of ICOFC, Salbali Karimi, told Shana on May 2 that as well as the gas projects, there are $2bn-worth of upstream oil contracts, under Iran's new oil contract model, the Iran Petroleum Contract (IPC).
The IPC was presented to foreign companies in November 2015, along with 50 oil and gas projects. Of those, 17 are ICOFC’s and they hold about 1.6 trillion m³ natural gas, making up 5% of the country's total gas reserves. If thy were all developed, ICOFC's gas output would reach 93.6mn m3/d.
