Iran’s Sarajeh Storage Facility to Boost Supply into Country's Gas Network
Iran’s Sarajeh gas storage facility is scheduled to supply the country's distributing network with 15 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) of natural gas in the near future, Shana News reportedthe managing-director of Iran Natural Gas Storage Company as saying.
Massoud Samivand said the facility is currently able to supply 10 mcm/d of gas.
He added that a dehydration and refining unit with a capacity of 5 mcm/d would be constructed at Sarajeh facility to enhance output.
So far, more than 1 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas has been stored at the Sarajeh facility which is located 140 kilometers South of Tehran, Shana said.
The facility, Iran’s first gas storage facility with 3.3 billion cubic meters capacity was inaugurated back in January 2013. Earlier this year, country's second storage facility was commissioned. Shourijeh storage facility, largest in Iran, will stock more than 700 million cubic meters of gas.
