Japan's LNG imports down 22% in Oct

Japanese LNG imports in October came in at 4.62mn metric tons, down 22% year/year, according to the data published by the country’s finance ministry on November 17. The imports were down 14.4% month/month.

Japan’s shipments last month cost 317.35bn yen ($2.76bn), up 67.6% yr/yr. The data showed that in October LNG imports from the Middle East were down 37% yr/yr while imports from Russia were down 24.7%. Japan’s imports from Asian sources were down 21% yr/yr. The imports from the US were up 55.7% yr/yr, the data showed.
