JOGMEC, Alberta sign clean energy pact

State-owned Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) has agreed with the province of Alberta to promote further cooperation in CCS, hydrogen and ammonia production, it said on November 22.

The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding on October 26, 2021. This cooperation, JOGMEC said, will contribute to the supply of clean energy to Japan.

JOGMEC said it will promote mutual cooperation with Alberta in cooperation with Alberta Jobs, Economy and Innovation, Alberta Energy and the Invest Alberta Corporation, to resolve issues in these areas and contribute to the supply of clean energy to Japan, through business support for Japanese companies.
