JX Nippon to Buy LNG From Malaysia LNG
JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation has concluded a deal to buy LNG from Malaysia LNG, the company said in a statement Thursday.
The Japanese firm will receive 380,000 tons per annum of LNG for 10 years starting in 2015. The LNG will be supplied from Malaysia LNG’s Dua plant.
LNG will be delivered to Hachinohe LNG terminal which is currently under construction in Hachinohe City and Mizushima LNG terminal, which is currently under operation in Mizushima City, Okayama, Japan.
Hachinohe LNG terminal is scheduled to start up its operation in April 2015. The fuel from this terminal will be supplied to the northern part of Tohoku region, and also to the eastern part of Hokkaido through Kushiro LNG Satellite terminal, which is scheduled to start up its operation in April 2015.
Malaysia LNG is a subsidiary of the Malaysian national oil and gas company Petronas.
