Karish FPSO arrives in Israel
The floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel that will be used to exploit the offshore Karish gas field in Israel has arrived in the country, the project's operator Energean reported on June 6.
The FPSO was transported by two tugs from Sembcorp Marine's Admiralty Yard in Singapore to Israel over a 10,245 km journey that lasted 35 days. Energean said it would immediately begin hook-up and commissioning operations, including the installation of risers and jumpers and the commissioning of the sales gas pipeline.

Commissioning will take three or four months, Energean said, putting Karish on track to yield its first gas in the third quarter of this year as planned.
"We look forward to continuing our progress through Karish first gas, the commercialisation of the newly defined Olympus Area and contributing to energy security and competition of supply for the region," Energean CEO Mathios Rigas said in a statement on June 6.
Energean made the Olympus gas discovery in early May at the Athena well at Block 12, 20 km from Karish. The company believes the find could be developed on either a standalone basis or together with other resources in the wider Olympus Area.
