KazTransGas to Explore for CBM in Karagandy Province

Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company KazTransGas has signed an agreement with Kazakh city of Karaganda for exploration of coal bed methane in Karaganda coal basin, according to Trend News Agency.

As per the agreement, municipality of Karaganda will assist the national operator in obtaining permission documents and connecting to the region's necessary infrastructure, as well as, providing information on the potential natural gas needs of Karaganda, Trend reports.

The agreement also stipulates that KazTransGas' will develop a plan for the gas supply to residential areas and sharing technologies for extracting coal bed methane with other partners working at the Karaganda coal basin.
