Keppel Wins LNG Dredger, FPSO Orders
Singapore’s Keppel Offshore & Marine (O&M) has bagged deals worth S$130mn ($96mn) for a newbuild LNG-ready dredger and upgrades at a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit.
The dredger will be supplied to the Netherlands’ Van Oord, under an option included in deals last year for two similar vessels. The ship, with a 10,500-m³ hopper capacity, is due for completion in the first quarter of 2022.
The second new contract is with Yinson Nepeta Production, a unit of Malaysia’s Yinson Production, for the fast-track modification and upgrade of the FPSO Allan.
“This is the third newbuild dredger for Van Oord and the third FPSO project for Yinson,” Keppel O&M CEO Chris Ong commented. “We are able to leverage the experience of working closely with our customers as well as our engineering and construction expertise to further improve productivity on their projects.”
