Kinetiko to Start South Africa CBM project This Month

Perth based Kinetiko Energy is all set to start its Amersfoort coal bed methane project in South Africa after it got a green signal from the country’s energy regulator.

The company expects to start its first pilot well later this month. Key pilot production well equipment has arrived on site and the drilling and completions rig is being contracted to mobilise by the end of this month, the company said. The well is expected to be complete by February next year.

The pilot production program will test gas recoverability and is target at converting a portion of resources into reserves.

Kinetiko is also continuing exploration drilling on the Volksrust tenement with the completion of its first well, which intersected gassy coals.
