Exclusive Interview with Klaus-Dieter Borchardt - From Madrid Forum to the Gas Package [GGP]
One year after the first interview, Ilaria Conti, Head of Florence School of Regulation Gas Area, met again in Brussels with Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, Director-General at DG ENER, European Commission. This time the discussion focused on the latest 31st Madrid Forum held on 16-17 October 2018 and on the initiatives triggered by its conclusions.
Remarkably, some of the organisations participating in the Madrid Forum were invited by the EU Commission to actively engage in consultations and present the results at the next Forum in June 2019.

Moreover, Director-General Borchardt shed more light on the new Gas Package, expected to be released by the new Commission in 2020. The Director-General identifies and defines the main chapters of the 2020 gas package: governance, upgrading the gas market and sector coupling.
