KOGAS Interested in Constructing Romanian LNG Terminal
Korea Gas Technology Corporation is interested in constructing an LNG terminal in Romania, an official said yesterday.
The multi-billion euro liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal is planned as part of the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector (AGRI) project. The terminal will be constructed in Constanta, on the east coast of Romania. A second terminal will be built in Georgia.
The AGRI pipeline will carry gas from Azerbaijan to the rest of Europe.
Korea Gas Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean state-owned Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), say that the terminal would cost an estimated €4.97 billion.
"We are the ideal partner for AGRI," Romanian newspaper the Daily Adevarul reports president of KOGAS Technology Kang Ki Chang as saying.
