KOGAS to Enhance Cooperation with NIGC

South Korean state owned enterprise Korean Gas Corporation (KOGAS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) to boost cooperation in gas industry value chain.

The MoU was signed on Sunday by Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hamidreza Araqi and the President of Korean Gas Corporation (KOGAS) Seung-Hoon Lee, Iranian oil ministry news agency Shana reported.

Araqi said that NIGC is keen to enhance cooperation with KOGAS on all levels.

KOGAS is ready for promotion of cooperation with Iranian companies in all areas particularly LNG, the cross-country gas pipeline and transfer of technical knowledge, Seung-Hoon said.

On Saturday, KOGAS signed a MoU with National Iran Gas Exports Company (NIGEC). The memorandum, first to be signed between South Korea and Iran post sanctions, concerns Iran's LNG exports.

South Korea is one of biggest LNG imports in Asia along with Japan.
