South Korea's April LNG Imports Surge

South Korea’s LNG imports in April were 3.2 mn metric tons, up 38.5% year on year, according to customs data released May 15.

Qatar was the biggest source followed by Australia and Oman. Qatar exported 927,250 mt of LNG this April, compared with 651,412 mt in April 2017; Australia supplied 448,145 mt compared with 486,502 mt.

Cumulative LNG imports during the four months of 2018 were 16.2mn mt, compared with 13.7mn mt in April 2017, South Korea's customs department said.
