Kuwait National Petroleum Company Starts News Gas Plant
The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) on Wednesday announced the start of the pilot operation of the fourth train at gas processing plant at Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Commercial operation will begin next March, the company said.
The plant has a processing capacity of 805 million cubic feet a day in addition to 106,000 barrels of condensates.
The gas plant is part of KNPC's strategy of expanding gas production to meet the growing needs of the local and international markets, KUNA quoted KNPC's Deputy CEO for Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery Mutlaq Al-Azmi as saying.
Al-Azmi added that the fourth gas plant train will supply ethane gas to two olefins plants and natural gas to power stations.
It will also help boost Kuwait's exports of propane, butane, pentane gases to the global markets, he said.
