Lithuania Tribune: Lithuania supports Poland’s idea of EU energy union

Lithuania supports the idea of the government of Poland to create a real energy union in the European Union (EU), Lithuania’s Energy Minister has said, adding that the country intends to support the initiative at the Informal Energy Council scheduled in Athens next week.

A report and a proposal to strengthen energy security of the Community would be presented at the next EU summit, Poland’s news portal wnp.pl reported. “It seems to me that both Lithuania and Poland are doing their work in this field,” Jaroslav Neverovič said at the European Economic Congress in Katowice, Poland, on Wednesday.

He said that he supported the idea to create a catalogue of problems faced by Central European industry and to open talks with European institutions on their solutions.
