Malta Independent: Decision on EU Funding for Gas Pipeline With Sicily to Be Taken on 18 November

European Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, who is in charge of Energy Union, will be in Malta for a day tomorrow, during which he will have a string of meetings with the government and other stakeholders. In an interview with The Malta Independent on Sunday, Mr Šefčovič says that a decision on whether Malta will receive European Union funds for a gas pipeline linking it with Sicily will be taken on 18 November. Mr Šefčovič also speaks about the EU’s energy policy and market, and the diversification of energy sources.
