McDermott Hires New Asia Chief
Houston-based global contractor McDermott International named January 5 its new head of Asia.
Ian Prescott is appointed vice president, Asia, effective January 8, replacing Hugh Cuthbertson who is retiring after almost four decades with the company.
Prescott will also join McDermott’s executive committee. Prior to his appointment, he was senior vice president and director Asia Pacific for Montreal-based contractor SNC-Lavalin. Before that he was CEO of Global Process Systems, and also held key posts with PAE (Thailand) and Norway’s Aker Kvaerner. He is a engineering graduate of Teesside University in the UK and has an MBA degree from Bond University, Australia
McDermott last month secured a key contract from Denmark’s Maersk Oil on its North Sea Tyra gas redevelopment, part of which will be undertaken at McDermott yards in Malaysia and Indonesia.
