Moldova to Investigate Shale Gas Prospects

Moldova is interested in exploring unconventional gas reserves.

Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuri Boiko and Moldova's Minster of Economy Valeri Lazar, discussed shale gas reserves straddling their shared border during a meeting in Kiev.

Boiko commented that Moldova would be able to produce on its own territory shale gas and offered the help of experts from Ukraine.

The minister added that the two nations were working towards developing a memorandum of understanding on energy issues.
