Moroccan Well Boosts Sound

Sound Energy's TE-7 well in its Tendrara prospect in Morocco shows very good pressure in the reservoir, it said March 25. The company said the well had given it had more confidence than before about the extent and quality of the reservoir, as it mulls a final investment decision for its TE-5 Horst discovery.

It said the period of pressure monitoring has been extended to observe a continued pressure increase and will continue, as it provides important information about the connected volume of gas in place accessible by the TE-7 well.

It believes now that this could exceed 115bn ft³, compared with the 40bn ft³ based on historical analysis of the pressure trend announced July 2017.

Sound said the significant increase supports its field development plan, which consists of a number of horizontal stimulated production wells spaced to optimise recovery.
