Mozambique Extends Oil, Gas Licensing Round By Three Months
Mozambique has extended its latest oil and gas exploration licensing round by over three months, news agency Reuters reported Monday.
In October, the Institute of National Petroleum (INP), on behalf of the Government of Mozambique, announced the 5th license round. A total of fifteen blocks were on offer in the offshore Rovuma, offshore Zambezi and Angoche and onshore around the Pande-Temane concession and Palmeira areas.
The Round was scheduled to close on 20th of January 2015.
The closing date has been extended until April 30 because of the level of interest and company requests for additional time, Arsenio Mabote, chairman of the National Petroleum Institute, told Reuters.
