Mubadala Petroleum Finds Gas Offshore Malaysia
Mubadala Petroleum has found substantial gas with significant commercial potential at its Pegaga discovery in Block SK320 offshore Malaysia, The Star newspaper reports citing a company statement.
The company said in Monday that the Pegaga-2 appraisal well was drilled to a total depth of 2,685 metres and confirmed an 850 metre gas column.
Flow rates produced was 30-50 million cubic feet per day of good quality gas with condensate, the newspaper adds.
Mubadala Petroleum said the third discovery, Sirih-1, was also confirmed from the 2013-14 exploration drilling programmes within Block SK320.
"This adds to the Pegaga-1 and Sintok-1 discoveries announced previously, and the existing M5 discovery which Mubadala Petroleum successful appraised in 2012," it said.
Mubadala Petroleum, as operator, holds a 55 percent share in Block SK320 with Petronas (25 percent) and Sarawak Shell Berhad (20 percent) holding the rest.
