Myanmar Resumes Gas Supplies to Thailand

Thailand’s national energy firm, PTT, has announced that Myanmar resumed gas supplies to the country on April 12, one day ahead of schedule.

National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT) has reported that suspension of gas supplies has not caused any damages.

PTT CEO and President Pailin Chuchottaworn said Myanmar’s maintenance of gas pipeline system which began on 5 April 2013 was now completed, NNT reported.

During the suspension period, PTT received natural gas from the Gulf of Thailand as well as liquefied natural gas (LNG) amounting to 4.3 billion cubic feet a day to meet the demand of all sectors.
