Naftogaz Transfers $30 million, Gazprom Says Funds Enough for Supplies to Mid-April

Ukraine’s Naftogaz confirmed it made an advance payment of $30 million to cover Russian gas supplies for the next weeks. Russia’s top natural gas producer Gazprom confirmed it received  the transfer, adding that the two payments from Naftogaz would cover supplies until mid-April.

“We paid $30 million million to Gazprom yesterday” Naftogaz said on Friday.

On Wednesday, the two energy companies signed a deal that will extend the “winter package” until the end of June. Naftogaz said that Ukrainian costumers would pay $248 per thousand square metres of gas through the second quarter of 2015.

Also on Friday, Gazprom said that an arbitration case filed against Lithuania in 2012 is no longer relevant since the company sold its contested assets that led to the court case.
