Anglo-Dutch major Shell reported dismal financial results for Q4 2019 trading, although operationally there were bright spots, particularly in Integrated Gas.

Greek gas supply firm Depa has secured a €20mn ($22mn) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to fund the construction of an LNG bunkering vessel, the EU lender said on January 28.

Tajikistan is negotiating with Uzbekistan to increase gas import by 43% year-on-year to 200mn m3 in 2020, Tajiktransgas deputy CEO Shavkat Shoimzoda told local Asia-Plus on January 29.

Excelerate Energy and Engro Elengy Terminal have signed an initial agreement for the expansion of the LNG import terminal located in Port Qasim, Pakistan, Excelerate said January 29. 

Bahrain LNG, the developer and owner of the LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Bahrain, January 27 announced that it has completed the mechanical construction and commissioning of the terminal.

Singapore-based Atlantic Gulf and Pacific (AG&P) January 29 said it is expanding its portfolio of proprietary technologies for small-scale bunker vessels and LNG-to-power barges in response to the growing global demand for cleaner and cheaper fuel.

Sinanju Tankers Holdings January 29 said Singapore's first dual-fuel bunker tanker has joined its fleet.

Japan's first LNG-fuelled vessel, the tugboat Sakigake, on January 23 was supplied with LNG as fuel for the 100th time since the tugboat’s delivery in 2015, NYK, which owns the vessel, said January 29.

Oilex has signed a binding initial agreement with fellow Australian explorer Doriemus for the proposed sale of all of its interests in the Cooper-Eromanga basin, Oilex said January 29.

Cooper Basin joint venture partners Santos and Beach Energy have agreed to extend the ethane gas supply contract with Qenos, an Australian manufacturer of polyethylene and supplier of polymers, Santos said in a statement.

Pennsylvania-based Edge LNG has been selected by a large Marcellus basin producer to monetise gas at stranded wells in Tioga County, New York State, it said on January 29.

US dry gas output reached 92bn ft³/d (about 2.6bn m3/d) last year, 9.8% more than 2018, but it has potential to exceed 120bn ft³/d by 2050, the Energy Information Administration said January 29.
