Natural Gas to Top Agenda During Erdogan's Iran Visit

Natural gas trade will be the most important topic during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Iran on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.

Iran is expected to offer a revised gas deal but no accord is expected to be inked, Turkish Energy Minister, Taner Yildiz, who will also be in Iran during the visit, said.

As per the deal in existence, Turkey buys 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Iran per year since 2001.

Yildiz added that Turkey’s complaint last February to the International Court of Arbitration, ICA, over Iran's high gas prices is likely to be concluded this May, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkey demanded that Iran reduce the prices by a quarter, which Iran has refused so far.
