New Standard Energy Ready to Drill Canning Basin Shale Well

New Standard Energy is all set to start drilling the first well in the onshore Canning Basin aimed at establishing the hydrocarbon prospectivity of the Goldwyer Shale.

Nicolay 1, the first in the initial three well program, is expected to spud in next few weeks. The MB Century Rig 14 has been deployed for the purpose.

The initial exploration phase has been designed to acquire a comprehensive data set via extensive coring, logging and scientific analysis of the Goldwyer formation in order to more fully appraise the quality of the potential resource opportunity.

In addition to the Nicolay 1 spud preparation, forward planning and work is continuing on the 2nd and 3rd wells in the program being Gibb Maitland 1 and Blatchford 1.
