News.Az: NG: Pipelines to Europe – guarantee of security for Azerbaijan

Supply of Azerbaijani energy resources to world markets, particularly to Europe is among the main directions in foreign policy of official Baku, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reads.

"This topic is almost always included in the agenda of the negotiations of the republic with European leaders. The recent official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Italy, and earlier his state visit to Greece were no exceptions.

President Aliyev was given high honors in Rome. He met with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Senate, Pietro Grasso. During the conversation, as noted by the official sources, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Italy in various fields. It was emphasized that Italy is one of the main trade partners of Azerbaijan, the sides noted the diversification of economic cooperation.
