Nigeria Finds Gas Reserves in Bauchi state
Nigeria has discovered gas reserves of over 100 billion cubic feet in Bauchi state in the North-east part of the country, reports Voice of Nigeria.
The reserves found in the Kolmani river are expected to last for 25 to 30 years.
“Additional exploration will be carried out in the Kolmani field, which will result in additional reserves being discovered. As further gas reserves are discovered, it means that our target of producing 2000 megawatts of power at the Yankari power plant by the year 2017 can be exceeded.” state governer Isa Yuguda stated.
Shell Nigeria had earlier done some drilling in the Kolmani River and reported the presence of about 33 billion cubic feet of gas condensate, at a depth of 2,785m, Voice of Nigeria added.
