NS2 now 75% complete, says operator

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline is now 75% complete, with 1,855 km of its two 1,200-km strings in place, the project’s Russian operator reported on August 26.

Pipelaying has been finished in German and Finnish waters, with construction currently underway off the coast of Russia, the Nord Stream 2 operating company said in a statement.

The pipeline’s Swedish section is also nearing completion, the Gazprom subsidiary said earlier this month. But work is yet to start on its portion in Danish waters, as Danish regulators have not yet granted Nord Stream 2 a construction permit.

Nord Stream 2 is due online at the end of this year, with a flow capacity of 55bn m3/yr.
