Baltic Times: Norway set to boost energy sector in Lithuania
Norway is set to support Lithuania in the field of energy security, the Ministry of Foreign affairs has said. Lithuanian foreign minister Linas Linkevicius and Norway's outgoing Ambassador to Lithuania Leif Arne Ulland discussed this and other key areas of the bilateral partnership on July 14.
The Scandinavian country is the fifth largest investor in Lithuania. According to Linkevicius, Lithuania especially appreciates the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, which aim to reduce economic and social differences in Lithuania. Around 87 million euros was allocated to Lithuania from Norway over five years.
During the meeting, a lot of attention was given to the cooperation between Norway and Lithuania in the field of children's rights.
