Norway ramps up security at oil and gas facilities
Norway is ramping up security at its oil and gas facilities amid concerns that leaks at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines were caused by sabotage, its energy minister Terje Aasland said on September 27.
Several European governments are investigating the major leaks that occurred on September 26 at three of the four pipeline strings that make up the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the North Sea. Sweden has also launched a probe into whether sabotage was the cause, after its seismologists recorded evidence of explosions occurring on the same day as the pipeline leaks started.

"Based on information we have seen so far, much indicates acts of sabotage," Aasland said in a statement, according to Reuters.
This comments come after Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority on September 26 called on Norwegian oil and gas operators to be extra vigilant following sightings of unidentified drones near installations on the Norwegian shelf.
